On September 22, 2018 Bikas Udhyami, supported by the HEED project, is organized a day-long conference on IOT & Business in Nepal.
The workshop and interaction program involved presentations on and by businesses who have successfully adopted ICT/IOT into their business models, panel discussion with entrepreneurs in health and agri-tech sectors in Nepal. Furthermore, it featured an entrepreneurs’ mini-fair with different tech-based entrepreneurs showcasing their products and services.
The objectives of the event were to: 1. Increase understanding of the business opportunities present in adopting ICT and IOT in businesses working in energy, agriculture and health sectors. 2. Providing space for existing ICT entrepreneurs and entrepreneurs working in other sectors to identify opportunities to collaborate and connect for future projects. 3. Engage with ‘early-mover’ businesses in Nepal, that are already using IoT to offer insight to the opportunities and pitfalls of using these technologies in Nepal, and to create platform for them to find new team members; 4. Engage with energy financiers to provide an international context to enterprise opportunities for IoT in energy, health and agriculture. 5. Provide opportunities to students, young start-ups and other interested parties to learn more about ICT/IOT and its impact on their lives. 6. Explore solutions to issues regarding ICT/IOT for Nepali enterprises and start-ups.
