On February 28, Bikas Udhyami launched an E-Publication titled ‘Social Entrepreneurship in Nepal: Stories of Young Entrepreneurs Changing the Way Business is Done'. Through these stories, Bikas Udhyami hopes to inspire others, especially young Nepali, to follow in their footsteps and explore social entrepreneurship in order to contribute to Nepal’s development in innovative ways.
The publication compiles the interviews we have conducted and blogs that we have written and published over the past one and a half years about young social entrepreneurs who are working in areas ranging from empowering women to become entrepreneurs selling clean energy products to employing differently abled persons as massage therapists.
The publication was launched as part of a student interaction program and featured a panel discussion in which various of the social entrepreneurs shared their experiences. This was followed by a discussion on what needs to be done to create a favorable environment for social entrepreneurs. A total of 60 students from different colleges around Kathmandu Valley were present for the student interaction program.
